Quilt & Binding Preparation
Quilt Top & Backing
- Please check for open seams
- Make sure your seams are well pressed
- Square Backing in both directions, No bedsheets please.
- Backing should be at least 8 inches longer and wider than quilt top
- Any applique must be fully secured around the edges
- Trim loose threads
-Indicate if there is a Top to the quilt or backing, this is important for directional Quilting Pattern Design choices
- Please save any embellishments such as beads or sequins for after Quilting is complete
- Tee shirt quilts present special challenges depending on the type of fusible and density of Tee Shirt Art, unfortunately we can not help you with them
- Some fabrics used as backing such as Cuddle, Minky or Fleece create challenges that can be managed by loading the quilt back with salvages on the right and left sides of your quilt and by choosing your thread color carefully. We regret that we cannot work with really long haired versions of Cuddle or Minky
